I heard there was a certian year where the 4runners where best (as in solid axels, something else too) but I cant remember what year it was!

I found an 89 4runner with 70k miles on it with a newly rebuilt 4-cylinder engine, new tires, alternator, starter and battery, for 2000 bucks..just wondering if 89 was a decent year!
