When you pull the lower intake, look closely at the studs to see if any are rusty. If so, you've got a coolant leak between the stud and the cooling port. You can have a machine shop true the lower intake, but I've been told by Mitsu mechanics that a spray copper gasket sealant should be applied to the gaskets used between the heads and lower intake to stop leaks there. The MLS gaskets can be tough to seal.
