You can get OEM parts here for very good prices. OEM is the way to go here. Just replaced the rear shoes on my truck for the first time at 165k miles.

Cheers,
Indy

Quality aftermarket pads and rotors are everybit as expensive as OEM. Anything is less is just that...LESS. Brembo is good stuff. For my pending front end work I have Hawk Ferro-Carbon pads (and they cost more than OEM) and Power Slot rotors (same cost as OEM). I chose this as a test package, I'd have gone OEM or this route just as easy.

Save your money by getting value meals and using coupons....saving $15-20 on OEM vs. NAPA pads isn't worth my safety.

I know racing isn't in everyones real life routine. I've seen chain store pads last a whole lap and burst into flames, OEM last a whole race (20 laps) and still have life, and race grade stuff last an entire season. Trail running isn't racing I know, but hauling in 4500 pounds of 4Runner to a stop from 75mph is real life. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

Same here, except my shoes are going on at 151K. I just ordered OEM front brake pads for $33 from this place. The Rear shoes I ordered were around $50. I wouldn't call that expensive by any stretch.

The only problem I ran into with 1sttoyotaparts was that they sent me a rear wheel cylinder rebuild kit instead of front brake pads-- something about the wrong part number linked from their website. But, Roger was awesome to deal with on the phone and he is sending me the pads right away and sending FedEx to pick up the cylinder rebuild kit on their dime.

oem are usually best for anything. unless you are getting into vented x drilled and stuff. i used kem...big mistake! wagner kinda stunk too. i do ok with raybestos. as for rotors, id like to know whats better too.

what was the problem w/ the wagner's? Ive been running their rotors/rebuilt calipers loaded with their pads on all my vehicles and they've been great so far. Little more exspensive than the other brands at oreilly's but they got the lifetime waranty. I just take in the whole caliper when the pads get worn and they give me a new one w/pads; slap'em on and bleed the brakes. Rotors still look brand new.

Brembo rotors. Akebono or oem pads.

I have napa-quality pads on my RACE CAR. and theyve lasted 3 races so far. OK, well i DNF'd the 3rd with tranny issues, but yeah.

EDIT: (and by the way, after 70 laps the rotors on my accord were RED HOT)

i run napa pads on my truck. in the mud they all burn up like crazy, so i buy cheap ones.

That being said, oem pads are probably better.
