Ditto on that. I love my 2.85's. Crawling is such a breeze. Gone are the days of "taking a run at it." I just motor right up. I can even stop anywhere I want to assess the situation and not worry about burning my clutch getting started again. They're definitely one of the best investments you can make if you intend to keep your rig and use it for wheeling.

And after putting in the 5.29's I've noticed that, with the added crawl of both the 2.85's and 5.29's, I can even just let the clutch out and idle my 4-banger up climbs for which I previously had to work. The change is amazing.

Oh man. I am so on the edge of buying these and axle gears it is rediculous. Heck I have most of the money but I may need it for a job change but I dont know yet. I should know in the next few months. Maybe by the time I know for sure I could get a front locker as well.

On the other hand it is very tempting to spend the money on the Chevelle.

For those who actually got stuff from AU. Did you have to pay duty tax? How much (%)? Is it on cost + shipping or just cost?
I'm working on getting mitsu locker for my Gen 3 from overseas so I'm currous as to importing procedures.
Any info would be appreciated

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Hi, which set would I use for a Gen 2 2.5 diesel? What's the cost in NZ? Cheers, Chris

I just paid Frank a lump-sum:

cost of gears
10% tax on the above
shipping

You'll have to get with him on what that will currently be. I paid for mine in February of '05 so prices may have changed and currency exchange-rates would likely be different.

EDIT: scratch that.....I got my gears crossed. What I was talking about above was the 5.29 gears. The 2.85's I got in November of '04 from Mark Hardman. IIRC it was just cost+shipping, though.
