Alex, I ship them through Australia Post and on the docket it says EMS International Courier.
There are two options for air freight 6-10 working days or 3-5 working days.
I used the 3-5 working days for these as Carlos is in a hurry, the weight of these gears was 6.86kg and cost $140 Oz for this service. The longer option was about $30 less.
In comparison the 2.85 gears weigh about 3.2kg.
These 3.15's are big, equivalent to a Nissan Patrol or Landcruiser sized t/case gears.

Yes it is a major problem but it can be solved.
Basically the 3.15 gears fit into the 5sp t/case same as the auto but the low range gear fouls on the selector rail boss (this is where the 5sp gearlever mates to).
I ordered and recieved a selector rail and boss from Japan and Mark will be looking to make a new version that has enough clearance. The new selector rail and boss will be supplied as part of the 5sp 3.15 kit. With the 5sp you have to drop out the gearbox and t/case anyway and to swap over the selector rail is a simple job just something extra that will have to be done as part of the install. I believe the US never got a 5sp version of the 3.5 V6 so it won't effect them. I'm dropping off the selector rail & boss along with a t/case to Mark on Monday because he wants to rectify this ASAP.

include a 98 Montero Sport 3.0 V6 Auto?

I'm close to knowing the answer. Everything matches up except for the input gear selector.

part numbers for my t-case:
MR453346 : GEAR,T/F INPUT
MB896674 : GEAR,T/F LOW SPEED
MB896675 : GEAR,T/F COUNTERSHAFT

Trying to nail down the input set as the part number on the OZ Montero Sport is different from the US Spec part.

The transmission in my 3.0L auto is a: V4A51


The Oz Transmission is a V5A51

if we can find the differences in the two and make sure that any differences don't matter for mating the t-case to the transmission, then we're in business.

Any of you lot know if it will work?

Looking at the WINCAPS program, it shows that a 3.0/Auto equipped Sport uses the same input gear as a 3.5L Montero (MR110871). This tells me that the 3.15 gears would work in the auto equipped Sport. I know the 5spd Sports use the smaller Tcase, though.

Yep, I now. Ed had put the 2.85 gears in his 97 Montero sport 5spd. Do all three part numbers match for a 98 Montero Sport 3.0 Auto?

This part nubmer is differant(MR110871) from CerOf's. Is this part number for 97-99 Montero Sports or all Montero Sports. If its all Montero Sports Where is CerOf getting his part number from? Because they don't match.

Does anyone know what kind of gears come stock in a 97 Montero SR T Case? Just want to know how much of a difference 3.15's are from the stock gears. I am assuming that these 3.15 gears would work in my 97 Montero SR with auto tranny??? Is this the lowest gear ratio available for my 97 Montero T case?

What about diff gears? I have heard that I can get gen III diff gears from a dealer and have them put right in my gen II diffs and it will lower the ratio? is this a good idea? does it work well? by how much does it lower your diff gear ratios?

I can't speak to the specifics of, or what is possible with, your rig, but I can say they do indeed work very well. Since changing both my t-case gearing and my diff gearing, my crawl ratio went from about 35 to 1 to just shy of 60 to 1. Even though I have a four-banger the difference in ability to climb is lightyears apart. Absolutely no comparison. And with the new diff gears I can much more easily turn bigger tires.
