Need a Spot
Got an 89 trooper 2.6 auto. The manual hubs are worn out and will grind when disengaged. Are these rebuildable? If they are can anyone tell me where to find an exploded diagram so I know what to call these parts? The gear that fits on the axle rides in a bushing that is completely worn away.Niether of my manuals refers to these hubs just the auto ones.I installed auto hubs in thier place but my front driveshaft spins even when in 2 wheel and they try to lock then unlock and cause a loud thumping noise.Any help would be great.Thank you

They are Aisin hubs im assuming; Look on the dial, they will say.

Hmm on here somewhere is a How To rebuild the Aisins.

A note: They are the same for Toyota, Isuzu, and Suzuki.

Edit: http://www.4x4wire.com/isuzu/tech/manualhubs/?

That will help. I think there is another one around here also. Use the search button.

Body Damage is Cool
Call Matt at www.independent4x.com . He has hundreds of parts for Aisin hubs, and he could probably find anything that you would need.
Also, look at this thread on Pirate4x4 that details how to rebuild a yota hub (which essentially the same thing as an Isuzu hub). It looks a little complicated, but is actually very simple. Aisin rebuild

Getting the Wheeling Fever
Just put a set of Aisins on my Rodeo. If the problem is the hubs, easy replacement. If it's the splines of your driveshaft that are worn down and grinding, a more involved fix is needed. Search the archives of this site for info on front driveshaft replacement. Good luck.

Can someone tell me, when did the spline count change on Isuzu's? What was the old count and what is the new? Thanks,
Mike

'94, and '00 Amigos and '00, 01 Rodeos. Rodeo springs and aftermarket 'hard top on 94. Aisin hubs OME 919's on the 2000 Amigo. 2000 and 2001 Rodeos have OME 912's and Aisin. Smoother ride with the OME 919's???

The change was around '87-'88. Don't know the old spline count, but the 'new' is 17 spline.
