Roll Me Over
I just finished the install of my Safari snorkel (Model number SS100HF) I bought mine from Matt at www.independent4x.com

Anyway it's not a direct fit and I had to do some modifications to get it to work. Like the template that was in the box didn't work so I had to eyeball the 89mm hole to cut in the fender.

The inner fender part of the snorkel was about 1-1/2" too long. I cut it and took 1-1/2" out of the length and fused it back together.

The bracket that holds the top of the snorkel to the roof doesn't follow the roofline. So I cut one of the bolt holes off so only two bolts instead of three are holding the top on. I may make a custom bracket and do it the way it was designed to be held on sometime later.

Here's the pics:

I think it turned out nice.

Yeah it looks much different than most Safari snorkels. It's more sleek and kind of fits the more areodynamic looks of the 2nd gens.

Thanks for sourcing that for me.

Joe

Can you post some picks of the fab job inside the engine compartment? Also, where's the air inlet... facing rearward? I thought it had to be facing forward to prevent vacuum drafts. Looks very nice tho!

Does it work? Just kidding...let us know how you like it on road(wind noise, acceleration, etc) and how it performs under water. Good looking mod.
