Have you seen the spring clamp on a stock early Toy rear spring? You could copy that by bending some strap into a U, drill it and put a bolt and sleeve through it, and then weld the strap to the overload (it won't hurt the overload, especially out near the end of it). I'll see if I can find a pic...
