Do you have a frozen adjuster? It may seem like you have 7 positions, but maybe the adjuster is just screwing out without the adjuster/lever on the inside of the shock moving. Take the adjusters off. Put some Deep Creep inside the shock. Hit the inside piston/lever a few times to free it up. Put in plenty of grease so it doesn't happen again. Adjusters will freeze up with rust in just a few months if they are not adjusted.
