The 2.6 is not a fuel efficient engine. Expect 15-18mpg.
The standard tranny is the weak link (I am told) and may need a partial rebuild. Another used tranny will probaably have more miles and be in worse condition. I sure love my 87.

87 Raizer, 4.3V6, Mod TH700R4,231CHD, detroit rear and LSD front, bouncy seats, 2" lift and 32x15 BFG MT tires.
