So I am now in position of a welded rear 12 bolt that will soon be going into the rear of my troop!

Now, this is a full drop in...I actually have 2 pumpkins, gears, and all. Is this really as easy as unbolting the drive shaft, unbolting the rear diff andf changing them out? Now, before anyone chastizes me, let me say that I have not been under my truck in a while

Also, my truck is acting strange...if I turn it off and then come back to start it in about 20 min-2 hours it acts like it isnt getting fuel. (almost like I have run out of gas) I have to try to start it several times and then really rev it. After that it runs fine. Any thoughts? Clogged fuel filter maybe? It has been a while since I changed it. I am also smelling some burning rubber type of smell after I stop the truck and get out. Possibly because of larger tires. Do I need some new brake lines?

Any thoughts?

Chris

I love mine

Its not that easy. But its still pretty easy. You have to:
1.jack up the rear and take tires off.
2.take off brake calipers and tie up out of the way.
3.take off brackets that hold the caliper.
4.take out the four bolts that hold the axle shafts in.
5.pull out both axle shafts about 6" on each side.
6.undo the drive shaft
7.remove all of the bolts that hold on the third member.
8.place new third member in, and put it in the same way it came out.

Thats what I remember, I think I got it all covered.

I'm not sure on the engine thing though. Mine does ot sometimes and I have to floor it to start it.

When I get clogged fuel filters, it will act fine, maybe a little slower at low rpms, but at like 2500 it will just fall on its face.

see if your air intake tube is melting above the emissions rail.
