Ask around your area who's the best to go to, and then talk with the people who run shops. As an example, Hunter Off Road here in Tempe, AZ does incredibly good custom work on skidplates, sliders, etc.... for about the same $ as ordering something. John will talk with you about how you plan to use the stuff, what you expect from it, how you want it to look... before he even makes an appointment for the fab work to be done. He quoted Shan_VX $450 for a full set of hardcore sliders (matching the curve of his VX even) and skidplates front to back, including behind-the-rear-tire buttguards done/painted/mounted/out the door.

that's the kind of place you should find in your area.
