I know the 91 HO's had an IAT. Your should as well, I don't know where it is. Look on the manifold for a smallish sensor that looks like it is in the air stream, and look on the intake plumbing.

A chilton should say where it is if it has one and what excepted values for it are...

On the 4.0L MPI motor the IAT sensor is a 2 wire threaded sensor that is screwed into the aluminum intake manifold in front of the throttle body. Here a diagram to help you locate it. If you have the TBI it may not be in the same exact location but in the same vicinity.<img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />

91 and newer has the High Output 4.0 EFI engine. The 87-90 4.0 used in cherokee's runs a renix system. IAT is needed to run a good, true, closed loop system. I'm not 100% sure if yours has one, but I'm guessing it does. Look for a sensor on the air box or a sensor on the manifold. If you think you found it, pull it out and eyeball it, Get a good feel for how deep it goes. If it is deep enough to be in the air stream, it's probably an IAT.
