Well, I decided to bring my CJ's fuel system up to late 20th century technology with a salvage EFI upgrade. I've already started by installing a 4.0 head and gathering parts. For now I'll run the carburetor. I may wind up regretting it. In fact I may even change my mind if I get a noitceable increase in MPG with the head only. One things for sure, the 4.0 head works a whole bunch better than the 4.2! It's like a new Jeep. The improvement has nothing to do with the condition of the 4.2 head either. It had less than 5000 miles on it and is in like new condition. I will probably try to sell it. You can't beat joining a good 4x4 club. I've gotten a 4.0 manifold with all the goodies on it, a distributor, a wiring harness and a valve cover all for free! I have to thank 4x4 wire also because it was through this site that a certain member that came up with the manifold and distributor (thanks Wyleone!) got hooked up with our local club. I recommend it all the time and will again, If you're into this sport, You can't go wrong joining a good 4x4 club. There are other benefits besides swapping parts, for instance swapping tools, getting asssistance for repairs, when stuck or broke down, possibly a shop to work in and more.
