I got tired of changing oil, so I got myself a gallon of 10/30 Mobil 1 15,000 mile synthetic oil. I have not changed the oil in 6 months and the truck runs nice. I, too, will change to another filter and stop using Fram. The only thing I like about Fram is that Walmart has it in stock and it has that nice rough cover that makes it easy to remove.
