You don't need to do a custom brake line. Here's a stock one you can use for gen I v6 montero's. Not sure if it works for the 2.6L models.

NOOOOOO!!!!!! its kind of a pita to get up in there anyways, so i recommend going with the one sided ones. they come in a set, and you put one on each side torque one some then the other and visa-versa until the springs can be pulled out. if you go with the kind you posted... i can already think of about 1000 four letter words that i would end up using tring to get them into the springs.

ya me too thats why i didn't want to use that kind, thats why i wanted to do it without the spring compressor. I hate the one sided ones even more tho. unless you do them evenly it pulls them to one side.... grrr.

yeah its a pita either way... or if you wanted to make it a huge pita, you could just disconnect everything and drop the axle. btw, glad that p/n got posted for the brake line... im going to be going to longer shocks sometime this summer after i beef up my trailing arms.

That bindex hose is a good bit longer then stock I guess?

I think im just gonna take the shocks loose and the hose off drop the rear end and do it that way, then have the compressors as a back up. Im thinking bleeding the system is less evil then those stinkin spring compressors....

Yes, the new p/n is longer than stock (~2").

Here's a write-up on the club website.

Is the longer hose the same part number for the SWB? I am glad this topic came up. I forgot I could stand to change it for a longer one.
