ok iv looked and ive found a few but there hase to be more out there. im gona make the chop probably this week and wanted all the info i can. any write up links or advice would be nice

and any info on how to reenforce the bed bottom would be helpfull as well not from rust i have none of that but from overloading it to close to the end one big break althe way across right behind wheel wells

oh im choping an 85 xcab box back to the shackle mount

Is what I came up with looking on Pirates.
It's not to hard as I bobbed my bed last year I think and Dovetailed it about three weeks ago. I have pics on the site below.

As for ideas on reinforcing the frame i've seen angle iron welded along the bottom of the box on the areas of interest, don't remember exactly which direction it was going as far as along or across the grooves

I didn't reinforce anything. Holds strong and I cut a little over 13 inches on my Longbed.

Roll Me Over
You can take and cut 4-5 inch piece of the bed bottom and sides and use it underneath the bed and inside the fenders to use as a backing. Makes it much easier to weld up without blowing holes it it as easy. Spot weld it in place about every 5-6 inches.
