Just curious because I recently installed one off an '87 4Runner into my '85 SR5 XtraCab but couldn't find a plug in the harness to plug it into.

I doubt that they are. When I installed one in my 1989 4Runner I couldn't find anything to plug it into. I just ran one line to ground and one line to the dimmer control wire that is not longer used behind my radio (aftermarket stereo doesn't use it).

I was hoping to just plug it right in. Oh well, I just tapped into a tail light circuit for power. Now I just gotta find one for my '86.

if you look at the clinometer harness, there should be two plugs on it, one can plug into the other. the harness is a jumper. you pull the plug off the HVAC lights behind the dash and plug it into the clinometer harness, then plug the other end of the clinometer harness into the HVAC light. if your clinmeter harness has been hacked-off, just get some wire tap connectors and splice into the same plug for the HVAC lights

You know what would make that look alot sweeter? take those d*mn green condoms off all the lights! I hooked my horn up to the windshield washer button because for some reason unknown to me the buttons refuse to work.....and I was forced to dump the washer resavor cause my Optima was too big

nah, ive tried it out w/ the sr5 gauges and everything has a yellow tint to it, not white. i also tried red and blue. but in the end, i liked the factory green the best.
why was your optima too big? mine fit just fine w/o removing the washer reservoir. if you ever go mudding you are going to be hating yourself for getting rid of it.

I donno, AFAIK, it came out of a crown vic, used in a patrol car for 6 mo. then given away, my buddies shop can get them for $25 bucks, and that's what I paid, so I didn't argue with the price.....
Any mud we have around here is while it's raining or right after it's raining, so just make sure you've got the wipers on when you hit the mud, and you're good to go.....I was out in the mud about 4 times these past 2 weeks, as this is probally the last time we're gettin rain 'till monsoon season and the only clean place on the truck was where the wipers go
