Need a Spot

I'm installing a coolant reservoir in a '79 truck with the 20r engine, and I wanted to know if it needs to be hooked up to anything besides the hose from the radiator. It doesn't look like it from the manuals I've been reading, but I thought that I'd ask on here just to be sure.
