It worked awesome!!!!!!
My timing only changed 4degrees retarded so I set it at 8BTDC.
Also the "orange" wire from the ECU to the ign module was light green w/ black tracer. The orange and purple from the distributor to the ECU were a twisted pair to help trace. That is in an 87 YJ w/ 4.2L. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> No more pinging!!!!!!!!!!!

No more hesitation, no more cutting out, smooth idle. That darn ECU had this thing doing backflips.

Wyle I always cut the ecu wires on the ecu side of the plug.. If you look at that plug there are more wires coming OUT of the plug than there are going in from the ecu.. So I cut the purple and orange wire and wire from there.

The main harness right behind the carb had severe fire damage at one point and I had alot of repair work that i did when I bought it. So it was not a big deal to me. When I get around to swapping in a 4.0L (not a high priority right now) it will get a new harness anyway.
