how much does a new one cost? I had a truck before with a bad radiator and a small leak. Took it to a shop to get it rodded and cleaned out. I was charged like 60-70 bucks for the whole job. Guy said it was almost 70% clogged and rusted. Worked okay for several months, but then it started going bad again. I ended finding a brand new radiator for 120 bucks online. Just my .02 cents <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I had my original radiator cleaned in 1999 at 78,000 miles but it did not do the job. I jush had it rodded and seems to be a great improvement. Be sure to use the 3 core as Lloyd recommends. I could buy a cheap radiator for $125 a heavy duty core installed for $125 A good new radiator for $250. They charged $95 for the rodding. Sure hope it don't start leaking.

Lloyd, ive been looking through the posts, since ive been battling my cooling system in the heat here, and was curious if you recomend having it recored, or is there a brand new 3 core radiator that will fit in the v6 model? i searched and couldnt come up with anything.

Thanks

I also recommend a new radiator. The boilouts and rodding just never last. I've never had such good cooling since I bought my new radiator and it was just a basic 2 core no-name. I think I will buy a new radiator more often now.
