Body Damage is Cool
I am going to replace my rusty Left front axle with a better one from Calif. Don't I neeed to loosen a ball joint to get the spindle to pivot more to get clearance to remove the axle?
Do I loosen/remove the upper or lower ball joint? Don't I also need to remove the outer tie rod end?
I just replaced the right side axle. I was pleased with the wear of the needle bearing I had replaced with a tube of delrin.
If I use a lift, do I need to loosen the torsion bar too.
The needle bearings only hold up for 2 years. The delrin was worn but still acceptable after 6-7 years of use.
Thanks for the help in advance. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

I did likewise. Upper and lower, tierod, yank the knuckle, and you're good to go. If you're using a balljoint splitter, have extra grease boots on hand. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Or maybe I was just unlucky. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/angry.gif" alt="" />
