I have coolant leaking from somewhere on the intake. I cannot seem to find where, but it leaks most when the engine is running. It looks like it is coming out from under the carburetor. Has anyone had trouble with something similar and how did you fix it? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Try removing your carb and resealing where it mates with the top of the intake manifold. Be sure to be thorough when stripping off any old RTV/gasket material. While you're at it, check any attaching hoses.

I have checked the hoses, but you are saying that coolant could be leaking around the carb base? I know that it looks like this is where the fluid is coming from, but I did not know that coolant flowed through the carb port.

Yes! The stock carb is heated, and when you change to a Weber the water port must be blocked off. Sounds like your's has come "unblocked" and since the water has nowhere to go is leaking. I've never been involved with the weber conversion, but if that's the case it seems like it would be a pretty easy fix if you remove the carb. Good luck. Terry

Can I just mash a dab of gasket maker into the hole and put the carburetor back together?
I think that one of the adapter plate screws might not be as tight as it should be. A little thread wear. I will see if I can get a heli-coil for it and maybe that will tighten it down a little better.

Can I just mash a dab of gasket maker into the hole and put the carburetor back together? The answer is no. I had to use some JBW, but it doesn't leak now. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />
