Rule change?
What the?
Storage told me I could put lawnmowers and other small engines in there (some groundkeeping spots work out of storage spots).
In today's world, I figured a 2.6l was a small engine.
Funny thing is, it was cheaper to get a slightly larger storage unit for my stuff + Isuzu (the ultimate in covered parking!) than it was for a small storage area and "open, uncovered parking" in the same storage area.
Yeah, yeah, you had me going after the 2nd time you swore it was true.
And we've now confirmed that 1. I'm anal enough to back-calculate across two seperate time zones. 2. Given a tiny thread, I'll run and pull production run numbers for all makes and models of a vehicle you didn't even look at anyway.
You make this with a bigger backside?

Tell me about it. California law says I need current registration and proof of insurance -- if I had current registration, I'd be driving the dang thing! I only fibbed in the first post. Everything that I confirmed was true, and there's probably some nice fella with a 5-window Deuce telling his wife about the nut-job 4-wheeler he bumped into at the gas station -- guess that makes me an April Fool. Glad I'm in good company. Randii

Or there is a post on some hot rod resto board that starts out with:
"I was at the gas station fillin' up the 5-window when this ugly looking 4x4 came in. We got to talkin' and I decided that I was tired of the shiny paint chrome world and 4-wheelin' looked pretty fun. So I tradeded the 5-window..."

I had to move my old 2WD out of storage because of a rule change anyway.... ....California law says I need current registration and proof of insurance -- if I had current registration, I'd be driving the dang thing! I'm not the fastest Amigo at the stock car race, but do I understand this correctly that even to put a vehicle in locked up, undriven storage you need to have current registration and proof of insurance? Remember, as beautifule as NorCal is (....and as much as I love to visit...), you still live in CommieFornia, so this is somewhat believeable.

If you're not going to drive it, you still have to file a "certificate of non-operation". And yes, there's a fee associated with it. <--- from CommieFornia, not defending CommieFornia, looking to get out of CommieFornia.

Sitting on the street...well, if it's not in your driveway, they can probably go for it.
But this was inside a storage unit; sort of like being in your garage and not taking it on the street. If it's not on the road (and especially not even moving or being started), it's not (in my opinion) the goverment's business if it passes emissions, has a "safe to drive" inspection, or has a current "permission to be on the roads" tag--you're not on the road!

Everybody has emissions (especially depending on what you eat!!), you don't have emissions regulations.
