Let me see if I can clarify. If I remember right (been a little while now) the "pads" for the mounts sit on the frame and are coked at ~ a 45 deg angle. coming off of the engine block is an arm that bolts to this, w/ 2 bolts/nuts holding these two hlaves together. So if you remove these 4 bolts (2 per side)and jack up the motor, it has kind of "feet" sticking out at an angle overhanging the mounts. Slip the blocks in there.
Having that angle is critical b/c whe nyou put the wood block i nand drop it down, it wedges it (the wood) in so it can't fall out.
