Something is wrong if that is a 20 gallon tank. Maybe you should take a look at your carb bud!!!

While I dont have the Montero 3.5L V6, I do have a 3.5L V6 Monty Sport and I am getting factory rated fuel consumption (18 mpg hwy, 16 mpg city) on stock wheels (255 75 r16 if i remember correctly). My FSM states I should only use regular unleaded though (good for me) - I can make 500kms with about a quarter tank to go. Since ChrisJ posted 2.6 no's, my 88 with weber can do about 500kms but close to empty on stock wheels. I was thinking of going to larger wheels but may have to reconsider...

I got ~17mpg if I could keep it all highway miles. Most commonly I got about 15 with a healthy mix of city driving. In the cold weather doing short trips, I got down to 12mpg.

Oh, and I also stuck with premium (93octane). Any less and she'd get sluggish.

I may experiment with premium when I get back to town...if gas prices are reasonable

Body Damage is Cool
My 90 V-6 With 33x10.5x15s I can get 300 miles per tank mixed driving- Without adjustment. So I guess I'm getting 339 miles which comes out to around 16 miles to gallon. If I drive real hard or fast it will drop some but it has been very consistent. About 50 to 55 dollars to fill now. My last suv was a suburban with 33x12.5s. I'd hate to think what it would cost to fill and I only got around 10 miles per gallon.

Its running fine. We didn't hook the cold start kick up when we replaced it. Curtis me and wyleone(matt) went over it. New coil got it running. I belive its a 14 gallon tank.
