Need a Spot
I just got my 3.2L back (again) from the rebuilder. This time it fired up!! But I have a constant misfire.

The trouble code indicated #3 cylinder misfire. I pulled the plug and it had oil on it, cleaned it, cleared trouble codes and misfire still there. Now trouble code is P0300, random misfire. Pulled 3 and 5 coil and plug and did spark test, no spark on 3, 5 OK. Swapped coil and plug and still no fire on 3.

Verified wiring continuity for #3 coil to ICM, OK. Tested ICM by cranking and checking for ground at #3 pin, no ground. The other pins on the ICM check OK. I'm thinking ICM is bad even though I hear they seldom give trouble. Went to get one and found out they are unavailable??? Does anyone know a source for ICM? Does anyone see a problem with my test/conclusion? Thanks!

Try www.car-parts.com for a used one. Have you called and or tried www.isuzuparts.com for a new one?

I've got a couple leads on used ones. Autozone says the part was available but is now on "national" backorder??? Sounds like they may be discontinued.... I was hoping to find a new one but so far no luck.

I would call Merlin at St. Charles Auto and at least get a quote from him. Additionally, he'll be able to tell you whether or not it's a GM part. There are more than a few Isuzu P/Ns that cross over to GM numbers (the vapor canister for one) which might make it easier to find what you're looking for. That being said you're going to be hard pressed to get a better price on an OEM part than St. Charles Auto. As an example Vapor Canister from Merlin - ~$88 (plus free shipping). Same part at local Chebby dealer - $124.
