Well, I figured out two out of the three things I had trouble with before. I did some detuctive reasoning and found the diagram for the check block under the cover. It was rolled up to one side. No wonder I didn't see it before. I also realized which bolt I need to loosen to turn the distributor. It looks like a 10mm bolt to the right of the cap (if your on the drivers side looking into the bay). The only thing left is the markings on the crank pulley. I started the engine and let it warm up. As soon as it did, it stalled. I then inserted the jumper and hooked up the light and aimed it toward the pulley. I thought maybe the flashing would show the markings more clearly. It did not. The funny thing is that once I inserted the jumper, the truck ran fine for about 15 minutes. I turned off the ignition and removed the jumper. Started it up once more and it continued to run fine. Took it for a ride down the street and again it ran fine. Only when I got back and played with the throttle blade (manually giving it gas with my hand) did it once again stall. Would the timing actually cause it to stall? I guess it would if it were really off by alot. But I get the sense it's not the timing. What else could it be?
