I have a carter electric fuel pump that is wired to a switch. Randomly when I go to start my truck the fuel pump wont pump. I can hear it, though it seems quieter than normal, but it wont pump any gas. If I pull the fuel line off at the carb and turn the pump on it generally starts pumping gas out almost immediatly and then works perfectly. Today it didnt work so easy, I ended up haveing to give the gas line a quick suck with the pump running (no gas was coming out) and no more than a half second later it started working and worked perfectly. This pump is no more than 6 months old and I have only really been driving my truck at all for about 2 of those.
Please help me out, I like the carter pump alot when it works, but if this keeps happening I may need to go back to the old reliable toyota pump.
