whats up everyone? i was interested in giving my ol' 88 2.6 some lift, i dont want it up the sky, but maybe around 1 1/2 to 2", but i have no idea where to begin... i heard i can tighten my torsion bars, but i dont feel like bouncing off my seat everytime i hit a bump on the highway. i also heard that putting a 90 isuzu stock suspension into a raider gives it a 2" lift, but i dont see how that could work...sorry if i sound like a bonehead here im new to this stuff, anyway thx to anyone who can help me out here.

It is a 4x4. Some people use Toyota lift shackels for the rear. You could get an add-a-leaf or possibly a different spring pack. Others can expand on this, I dont own any 2.6s. The front, you will probably have to crank the torsion bars. If you lift it really high, the ride sucks, just 1-2 inches wont be bad. I have done it to all of my trucks and no problems with ride quality.

I thought cranking the T-bars did not effect ride. When you crank the T- bars, the dampening is exactly the same. Just lifted. The relationship between the anchor arm and the control arm stays the same. Check out the Mitsubishi Tech section on torsion lifts. It explains everything perfectly. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

What does affect the ride is how close you sit to the bumpstops. If you crank the bars very much, you have to trim down the bumpstops, or you will hit them every time the suspension cycles. THEN your ride will feel like a pogo-stick.

There has been a lot on body lifts. Search it, or check the archives. Body lifts are easy to put on.
