Did you get a check engine light? Does it even work? Im no expert, it is very unlikely that all of a sudden all cylinders lost compression. It seems like it is something stupid/simple. If you lived closer than 2500 miles away, I would look at it. Are you sure its getting fuel?

I pulled the inspection cover off the drivers side cam. The timing marks are right on. Crank at TDC, dot on cam gear in line with mark on the aluminum casting. Guess I pull the engine on Saturday. Pull the heads off and start looking for damage. Thanks for all the input guys.

Did you try starting it with just the two rear spark plugs out as i suggested?

I'm curious as to why the back two plugs? What is there about those plugs that is different from the other four? What will be revealed by this troubleshooting technique?

Well, he said that it started losing power just before this occured and that spark, fuel and timing belt are ok. Sounds to me like a plugged exhaust. by removing the rear plugs, it gives someplace for the exhaust pressure to release and typically, the engine will start or attempt to start if that is the problem. This condition will also affect cranking compression readings.

I did try to start it with the rear spark plugs removed, nothing. I talked to a friend that works on cars for a living, he suggested the the temp gauage might not be working correctly and that the engine did over heat and I lost both head gaskets. Saturday I will test the gauge with boiling water and I will pull both heads off the engine and take I look at the gaskets. Will keep you informed. Thanks

Well I pulled apart the monty, the small dia water hose that goes to the intake (is it the mass air flow) and it had a cut in it and cooling fluid must have all leaked out there. The temp guage did not read correctly. There is also a lot of oil in the valley between the heads. I was going to pull the heads but being Easter Sunday, I was informed that it was more important to have Easter diner with the family than to work on the monty, so I guess the heads won't come off till monday. I hope it is just head gaskets. Happy Easter to all.

That hose goes to the throttle heater. It does sound like both head gaskets blew.
