Getting the Wheeling Fever
I was helping the neighbor tear down a garage and in it I found a ragged out PUP. Everything has been stripped except the working AISIN hubs. I snatched them up for free. The delimma is I already have Superwinch hubs on the Rodeo. Should I rebuild them and swap them with the Superwinch hubs? Or sell them to someone who needs them?

Sell them to me please!!! You're one lucky fella. I've been searching like crazy to find some. You got any more neighbors that need help??

I'd swap on the Aisins and sell the SW's... but either way will work. If you decide its not worth the hassle, I doubt you'll have any problems finding a taker here on the forums

[edit]BTW, just as a reminder: whenever it comes time to sell whichever set you don't keep, that needs to be handled through the For Sale forum. This thread needs to be kept to opinions about what your course of action should be. Any offers and/or requests should be handled via PM.

Thanks for the reminder. I will probably rebuild them if I choose not to sell them. Is that difficult? Anyone done it?

Do they need rebuilt? Just because they're old doesn't mean they're worn out

[edit]FWIW, my oem Aisins are 14 years old and haven't lived an easy life. I clean and relube them when I do wheel bearing repacks; but haven't done a thing to them beyond that. They still work great

Define "PUP". We use "Pup" to denote the pickup, but the Isuzu pickups between the Luv and the 88 Pickup were P'ups. Short for Pickup. Clever, eh?

If it was anything older than 88, they won't fit your rig.

Body Damage is Cool
Rebuilding them is actually very simple.
Just take them apart, get all the grease off (i use gasoline and a toothbrush to get it all off) then just re-assymble them. You dont need all the stuff in the rebuild kit. All that is is just some washers, bushings and a seal that might already be there.

Ive rebuilt and sold 4 or 5 pairs, and ive gotten it down to about 30 minutes a pair....
oh, and here is a good thread on PBB for a rebuild.

Yota hubs are almost exactly the same as Isuzu hubs, so this will work for yours.
Put the AISINS on your truck, sell the SW ones.

I have a factory rebuild kit and it also comes with the splined gear that engages the stub shaft. Definitely more than just some washers, bushings, and a seal. Don't forsee ever needing it; but it was on ebay too cheaply to pass up

Its newer than an 88. I cant tell you what model it is. The dash looks like the early 90s Rodeo. Looks like I will be selling a set of used SW hubs. What is the going rate for something like that? Less than a year old and in perfect working order.
