As some of staff knows I bought a '95 4Runner a couple weeks ago. Spent some time underneath it yesterday and have a few questions and comments.
When I pulled the front 'skid plate/guard' (don't know what you Toy guys call it) I found 2 things lying in it. One is a round piece of thin black plastic that looks like a cover for something. About 2-2.5" in diameter. Where does it go? The other thing I found was a wire not connected. One end goes to the front diff to what looks like a sensor but I could not find a place for the other end to connect to.
What in the world was Toyota thinking when they put that little bitty oil filter up on the side of the motor where even my skinny little arms can't get at it?
The right-side axle has a torn CV boot at the wheel end. Going to have to replace that before too long.
A/C wasn't working and after checking the refrigerant pressure, which was good, I started investigating and found that the compressor belt was missing. Went ahead and replaced all 3 belts and I now have cold A/C....easy fix!
What is the little switch in the center console just south of the transfer-case/tranny levers? Not the rear-glass switch but the other one.
Hate the cup holder so high in the dash.
I don't like the typical rear sag that these trucks have. Do you guys worry about this or just leave it? If it's just a matter of sticking some fresh springs in the rear I'm up for that.
Enough for now.....I'll post some picks later today and probably have more questions.
<edit> BTW, I like the truck! <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/cheers.gif" alt="" />
