I finally went out and bought a new cap and rotor, along with plugs and wires today. And since I had to pull all the old plugs I figured I should do a compression check as well.

I marked all my plug wires before pulling the plugs. Then after I marked them all at the rotor, I noticed they were already marked.... Original wires dated 1988.

All 6 plugs were white, so its on the lean side. But they were not worn to bad yet. But they were champions, I replaced them with NGK's.

I started on the drivers side with cylinder #2 and worked my way back to the fire wall, then I moved on to the other side. So here are the numbers.

#2 178 #1 180
#4 90 #3 172
#6 175 #5 180

So #4 was low, I poured in a bit of oil and tried it again after running the rest of them. It tested out at 174 with some oil in it. So this would mean I have worn rings on that piston, correct?

It idles smoother now, and runs pretty good. And all but one cylinder had good numbers, so I am pretty happy with it.
