so i figure they must have blown apart somehow in the mail. the "gap" was a result of the entire hub being wrongly assembled.

both hubs needed to be completely rebuilt - gawd. what a frustrating mess. but as far as i know it works on the one hub.

i can't get the allen key bolts to budge...
