If you can get the shims, it would be insurance incase
you need them. BUT, just because that truck has shims
does not mean yours will need them OR your truck might
need more.

The gap or play between the clip is only supposed to be
0.005", I think... I'd have to look it up.
The shims come in 0.005, 0.010, 0.020, and 0.030.
Your truck might not require any shims or it might require
a couple... each truck will be slightly different.
