Here is a NICE high res picture of my Welded up front differential.

The Spider gears all get welded together where they touch, and interlace with each other.
The proper way to do it is to pull the case out, pull the ring gear off, and then cover the bearings up with tape so no slag gets into them. Weld it as HOT as you can, and after each super hot pass, stop, and chip ALL the slag out. I mean all of it. Chipping hammer, wirebrush, carb cleaner, chipping hammer wirebrush. I mean get that weld clean.


If you do it right, it will never break.

Remember!!!! This took a 4.3, 3:1 gears, and 33 inch LTB swampers HAMMERING on it to break the axle stub.
