the diff is supposedly a stronger design, as the carrier bearing cap is a 1 piece girdle rather than 2 seperate caps like the regular 8". however i've heard that the housings themselves are weaker than the truck/4runner housings.

they are also somewhere around 60" wide, compared to 58" for an IFS truck.
