THe last one I'm aware of was over $5K IIRC (on ebay), over a year ago.
have people reached the point of silliness that these are "collectibles"? :kekeke:

Most people don't even know they exist...which doesn't promote "collectability"

The word "RARE" is on most sales that I see.

when looking for a container to hold drained brake fluid, find a container that is different from the beverage you are currently consuming.

yeah, my hope is that with the popularity of the iternets and all I might be able to fetch a higher price because everybody thinks that "rare" = "valuable".

Speaking of RS's i seen one on saturday passing autozone. If i wasnt waiting to meet someone i would have hopped in my truck and chased them down and asked if they wanted to sell. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/notooth.gif" alt="" />

when you look at some of the other stuff that people collect and what they pay for it why not buy an RS? I keep an eye out for them all the time, about three years ago there was a white one down it Texas somewhere that I called on, the guy wanted 3,500 back then. It was clean but I thought he was dreaming, nine months ago I bought a beat 89RS and I am at least double that figure by now. So collector Item or not if you want one there is not much to choose from and don't expect to get your money back out of it. Reid

I saw an '88RS with a For Sale sign the other day, asking $3400. All interior was re-done and had nicely built steel front and rear bumpers and roof rack. Only problem was the rear cargo door did not quite shut right. Is it worth that much $$$?

If the only problem is that the doors don't shut right at least you can get doors off any other trooper to fit. If the thing has been rolled then look out. but is it worth 3,400? only depends on how bad you want it, or how long you want to wait? the one that I bought was almost free but it didn't stay that way for long, over 800.00 just to get it to pass CA. smog test before I could drive it. Some of these 1 gen troopers sell for peanuts but the parts and alittle shop time adds up fast.

No, it didn't say '88 on the truck. I was driving with my wife, and it was parked on the street. It was a short wheelbase 1st gen Trooper. I don't see many of them, so I decided to see the price. The lady who was there said it's her husband's '88 Trooper, and they were selling it because they have too many cars. Well, maybe she didn't know...

I wasn't in a market for another vehicle. My wife always says I must get a 3 car garage house before getting another one. But that time she said I can get it if I want it. Well, I thought the price was too much.
