Getting the Wheeling Fever
My local Toy dealer is out of the old anti-drainback filters.

Does anyone have a few or an alternative filter as a replacement.

I recall someone using Mobile 1 filters and am currently using one. It has the timing chain rattling untill pressure is built up.

I used the search function and not having success with the
"past 5 years" part of the search page.

I use the Purolator Pure One filters. They seem to retain the oil well with an internal ADB valve.

Wix also has an ADV. Found that out yesterday in the middle of an oil change when I discovered my stash of filters had run out. I wanted to get a NAPA Gold, but they were all closed.

Can someone please enlighten me. Are the "current" Toy dealer filters not ADB? I just go and get 2 for $11... the one they give me is for 22re, 3vze and a few other motors.
How can you tell?

yes the "new" ones have antidrainback valves, along w/ almost everyother filter on the market. some just work better than others. the only difference between the old and new ones is that they arent made in japan anymore. i read that they get their filters from purolator and put toyota on them b/c if you cut them open they are pretty much identical.

Understand Tater that all filters will drain out through the crankshaft bearings. The anti-drainback valve just prevents them from draining out through the oil pump.

It's a common misconception that having an anti-drainback valve means the filter will hold all its oil. That's actually not the case at all.
