That's such crap. People go out to the point with campers on their truck and stay for days and the rangers don't hassle them.

I've never gotten in trouble for sleeping in my truck or under the stars out on the beach, but this past summer some grumpy ranger lectured one of my friends who slept on the beach with some blankets and a fire. I think as long as you don't pitch a tent, you're probably okay.
