Although I doubt that the 4L30E and Aisin/Warner tranny would have the same pattern, BUT stranger things have happened.

As far as the shifted case goes... I had those thoughts myself of changing it out, but there was enough different between the two cases that I decided to forego that and just get it back together again.

EDIT:
Differences are:
2/4 rail is not mechanically shifted via the shifter but with the actuator and some of those parts are not present in the GEN2 SOTF case. Mechanically it is the same pertaining to the gears. The difference with the SOTF version, like I say is the actuator, and the mechanical one is interlinked on the shift rails (High/Lo & the 2/4)

I had a shifted case next to me when we were rebuilding the SOTF case last week @ Portal. The Tera kit was just slightly different and I thought it was different enough to just not fit with the shifted case and the SOTF rails etc.

With the Tera kit already installed, I think you can definitely make that happen. The shifter is in the same place, same shifter just a different knob.

The pattern on the '04 AW tranny for the t-case is the same as the older gear drive case.

Couple old posts on this:

Fred's '04 questions

From my AW4 swap

The only unknown is the shaft splines & length. My guess is that they're the same as well so they could bolt the various t-cases to the same tranny.

The only thing I'll need to do is change the flanges. They are bigger on the newer cases.

Well I slid the 94 case with the Teras in it onto the back of my tranny last night. I changed the rear output flange and everything bolted right up.

Now I just need to work on the front axle disconnect and the wiring to make the dash light work correctly.

Nope.. the floor board will be the same. If you read earlier in the thread, the Japanese version retains the 2/4 manual shifting rather than the vacuum actuator.

That is the only difference. manual shifted 2/4 rail vs vacuum shifted.

I'll do that. I've not taken any pics of the t-case swap because it's very straight forward. Only the rear flange needed changed.

So when I get into the axle disconnect I'll take pics and I'll also snap a few of my conglomeration I'll bolt down to hold my front end "in"

Ok, I got my front axle connect finished.

Here is the stock axle disconnect:

Here it is apart:

Here is what's going on in the axle,

Here it is unlocked:

Here it is locked:

And here is the plate I made and welded the shift fork in place so it will hold me in the locked position:

And here it is bolted on:

I just need to work on the dash indicator so it will light when I go to 4wd.
