Well I'm back, it took me awhile to get started on the front bumper but here's what occurred so far.
Main plate: 1/4 inch thick that the winch will be mounted on that will be bolted directly to the frame. No welds are between the winch and mounting surface. That and the fact that it's 1/4" is what sets it apart from Hansen's, Advance Engineering, Fab Four, and M.O.R.E. This is the main carcass that everything else will be build around. Measure three times before you drill. I had to drill 4 holes for mounting it to the frame and 4 to the winch. 3 holes were just a tad bit off so I had to refill the holes (the great thing about welding) and redrill. Well when you are drilling on the stock metal with a tensil of 45,000 lbs the bit goes through like butter, but when you are drilling through a weld that was done with 34 wire the tensil goes up to 72,000 lbs. I drilled for over an hour and didn't make a dent so I had to pull out the plasma cutter to punch through it, then finish off the hole with the drill bit. Anyway the holes are now 100% perfect.
Just checking the fitment off the fairlead mounting plate to see what the relationship of where the OME fog lights and side panels will go.
Stage 3 mock up: mounting plate, fairlead mount, and winch:
Stage 4: lots of poster board and lots of hot glue.
now you can probably get a rough idea of what it will look like. I have all my master templates of poster boards cut, they'll be transferred to master plates of 16 guage steel in the next week, then the welding begins. The only thing to still figure out is what bar(s) I'm going with, what lights, and how many of them that I'm going to build....hint
