yup when painting something like that you should use por-15,or if you want a textuure type paint use hammerite.they are both highly resistant to rust, and chipping.

My experience with Por 15 is that it will not stick worth a crap to bare clean metal either. It needs rust to clink to. Hammerite has never held up worth a darn for me as well. The best that I have found is powder coating, period, end of story. I just did this way because this vehicle when I'm done with it will be the company vehicle, everything else will be powser coated, that is unless someone prefers to Rhino Line it at the additional cost. It isn't cheap either.

Zubi, how did you prep the metal before applying the Rhino? If you did a Zylol washdown the Rhino should have stuck nice and tight.

36 grit, then 60 grit, then Zylol, then tack cloth, then Zylol, then tack cloth, then I take it to the sprayer. It was the last time because they don't honor nothing and want to charge an arm and a leg to fix it. Secondly, they can't follow directions to save their lives. I instructed them four times, once in writing to "not" spray the inside because I have such tight tolerences but they did anyway, then I have to stand there and wait while they grind off everywhere that it is interfering with the proper fit. As for now I have a friend of a friend who does powder coating until I get a bit more established then I'll move it in house as well. It's hard getting good help now a days.

Powder coating would have been my first choice. After all that prep that Rhino should have worked. You'll like the powdercoat much better. I'm surprized that you haven'
t put a lift on that Rubi.

I'm getting to it eventually, 1st it was the welder, then it was the bender, then it was the torch, next it will be the shear, then maybe the lift.

I'm not sure what you mean? Why would I post plans for a bumper that I am building for my business that is upcoming as indicated in this thread? I'm confused? Does Hansen, Advanced Eng, Kolby, Warn or any of the like do this?

Easy there cowboy I just reread the thread, and there was only 1 brief mention of a business name and it could have easily been overlooked. Of course if it's a business you shouldn't post it, Noah probably just missed that subtle point.

It was not my intent directly or indirectly to be rude or condensending to anyone so if it was taking that way I apologize to Noah. I truely just didn't understand the the reasoning for the question. It was noted though directly or indirectly 4 out of 6 posts in one shape or from that I'm in the process of getting geared up to start a business. So I have yet to do so and it will probably be another 3 or 4 months until I do therefore I don't see the issue of me posting on this thread.

To add to the question by 4xgoose on the general lift question, I have now run Metal Masher, Hell's revenge, Cliff Hanger, Poisen Spider Mesa, Fins and Things, as well as Rattlesnake (local trail), all of which are 4 rated or better (exception F & T), in bone stock form and have had no issues what so ever. In fact I made it all the way to Mirror Gultch on Metal Masher and up the first ledge all in 2H (surprised the crap out of me). So I really am in no hurry to put a lift on it. I just don't see the immediate need for me. I pretty mch stick to 4.0 rated trails with a rare occasion of 4+, and some 3.5 mixed in there. When I do put a lift on I see absolutely no need to go any higher than 3 inches with 33" rubber. Now that being said, if you were the type of individual that runs the 5.0 rated and off the chart rated trails if you were to go with a long arm 4.5 or 5.5 inch lift this thing would be unstoppable. I personally just can't justify taking a brand new spanking rig and beating the crap out of it on those type of trails. It's just my preference. I'm a traditionist wheeler, I believe in wheeling what you "drove" to the trail and prefer the scenery over the challenges. Just my preferences. I only expounded about this for anyone that is thinking about purchasing a Rubi/Unlimited. They are awesome, not quite up to the capability of my Passport yet but then again the Rubi is stock, the Passport has 12 grand into it.

No offense taken I just meant don't post the plans, not don't post anything. You gotta test the waters with your new products, and what better place than here!
