Sorry I've been a little outatheloop for a bit, happens every year this time, runs till June. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/baby.gif" alt="" /> Then HOLIDAYS. Anyways, I used a single hood vent from a chryco lebaron (80s-ish). I got it from mitsulvr who now owns my truck (ironic?). I only put one on one side, (battery side) because I found that the engine compartment was very hot in that area, when wheeling in mid-summer heat, esp when spending a fair bit of time idling/crawling. Seemed to work well at keeping the temps down a bit under there. There were some threads from a few years back where some folks had some trouble cooking their Optima batteries, and during the height of this, "Frank the dude" put a thermometer in various locations to see where the heat was concentrated. I seem to remember that much of it came from the exhaust mani's on the passengers side of the engine? I'm sure the dude can elaborate...

BTW, those exhaust mani heat shields don't usually last the life of the engine, so there's another place to look for heat...
