Don't know about removing the top. Mine's a softie.

I wouldn't go larger than 245/75R16 without any lift. Even then it may take some minor trimming.

With a 3" suspension lift, 265/75R16 MT's are the perfect tires. I love my TrXuS MT's. Fender trimming is minor and easy to do. A quick search will give you plenty of information. You should also get longer shocks and manual hubs with a 3" suspension lift. I used Matt's kit Independent4X
