I got an 86 CJ7 with a Motorcraft 2100 carb and 258. I tuned up the carb and got it idling smooth around 700 rpm but now the engine stalls when cold. Sometimes I get a dark cloud of smoke when I start the engine when its hot or cold. I dont believe the choke is working properly. Ive tried to adjust it but I think it just sucks. Does anyone have any advice about replacing this? My cuz told me to put a manual cable on it, but wanted to check with you guys first. If there is another way Id like to know.
