I am gearing up (hahaha, no pun intended) to do a lift, tires and gears by mid-july. Where would you recommend looking to purchase a 5-7" Skyjacker lift. I want a full spring lift, no blocks! Can y'al point me in the direction of a good shop to order from?
I more than likely will be doing gears and a locker or two at that point. I can see the $1800 for everything than the $1800 for just the Marlin lift right now. That will have to wait unfortunately.
Thanks! John

Correct me if I am wrong but isn't Skyjacker the lesser evil of all mass produced lifts? If I am mistaken, please correct me. I can't afford a Marlin or All Pro - Perhaps a Downey lift? I know there was just a thread about decent mass produced lifts recently....

Yes, Skyjacker is a great choice for off the shelf springs. As with any lift, the less arch they have the better they will ride so don't get too carried away. A small suspension lift combined with a small shackle lift, a little body lift, and some fender trimming is the way to go in my opinion. Both 4Wheel Online and 4Wheelers Supply advertise with 4x4Wire (see the bottom of the page) and offer Skyjacker products. <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/kewl.gif" alt="" />

I had good luck with SkyJacker SoftRides in the rear of my truck. I ran them with the IFS and when I first did the SAS. They rode smooth, comfy (passed the wife test) and flexed pretty decent.

Thanks folks! I will do some checking! I probably won't go to the 7" lift, more than likely will do a 4-5" w/ 33's or 35's. Like I said I would want to find something I could get all the goodies (lift, tires, gears a locker and maybe x-over steering) for around $2000 - 2500.

what about trail-gear springs? They ought to be better than Skyjackers and they are cheaper than Marlin and All Pro. www.trail-gear.comAlso, for local vendors I'd stick with 4wheelers @ 35th/Washington. http://www.4wheelers.com/
