The FSMs have the temp sender testing procedures. They are typically either a resistance that varies with temperature or they are a contact that is closed (or open) below a certain temperature and open (or close) above that temperature. They will either have one terminal (with the case grounded) or they will have two floating terminals where the resistance is measured.
