I'm thinking of getting these M/T Classic II wheels in the 16x8 neutral offset variety. Some of you may recall my past posts regarding clearance issues when replacing the stock steelies with an aftermarket wheel. These ones have 4.5" backspacing, so I'd be going from a 16x7 with 5.5" backspacing to a 16x8 with 4.5" backspacing. I'm hoping that this change won't require any modification, or just the pinch weld mod at the most. Does anyone think I'll have to trim the fender? Also, is it safe to assume that my wheel will be protruding another 1.5" from the fender? Will this have any implications from a legality standpoint?
TIA
-Eric

I'm guessing that a little trimming might be required.
Just in case, here's Bansil's Fender Trimming 101 photos.

Hey Eric....I've been looking to go in the same direction with wheels with either 16x7.5 snowflakes or the M/T Classics. If you find a great vendor deal on the Classics, let me know.I was trying to find some blemished or seconds but they don't seem to exist. Thanks.
